"Legacy Chefs!"
The Kids Cooking Connection loves The “Legacy Chefs” program designed by Healthy Hands cooking designed to unite children (ages 2-13) with active seniors in the kitchen.
Senior communities are an ideal setting where students young and young-at-heart will learn about nutrition and preparing healthy foods from scratch.
HHC Certified Instructors teach each HHC classes in senior living centers using fun, age appropriate lesson plans that lay a foundation for life.
Senior adults are invited to watch, participate, or help mentor a child in the class, bringing the intergenerational community together for precious learning time around the table.
In order to host a class, the senior community is asked to provide a clean space in a common area or activity room with a sink. (No fancy kitchen is needed as many of the recipes are made using simple tabletop appliances).
There is no cost to a seniors’ community for hosting an HHC “Legacy Chefs” class or camp presented by The Kids Cooking Connection.
Senior adults attending a class may be asked to sign a model release form.
We invite you to join HHC and The Kids Cooking Connection by offering the “Legacy Chefs” program as we bring together children and seniors with healthy cooking education and important life skills.
